Guatemala coffee shade grown between two volcanoes. Bright with flavor notes of spice and fruit.

Product Description

Guatemala Estsate is one of our favorite new acquisitions. This coffee is shade grown on family owned farms in the fertile volcanic loam nestled between two volcanoes, Agua and Fuego (water and fire). The small farms, located between 4000 and 5300 feet, are canopied under grevillea and chalum trees.

Los Volcanes coffee is fully washed then sun dried. The milling and drying are carefully executed, which yields consistent results year after year. Antigua coffee is world renowned for its quality. It even carries a protected designation of origin – only coffee grown in the region is allowed to called Antigua.

The cup displays a rich acidity with spice and fruit flavors. It is a very crisp, complete tasting experience – well balanced. Kosher.

Really like this coffee. The description “bright flavor notes of spice and fruit” is exactly right. One tip, you may use less coffee per pot than some other varieties. For example, I use 46.3 g of the milder Peru, but only 44.2 g of this Guatemala. If it’s too strong or harsh reduce the quantify until you hit the sweet spot. You won’t regret it.

Firstly…David Kobos is my standard…his integrity & artistic vehemence were attributes I greatly admired. Then, Kobos Coffee changed hands…goodbye to quality-without-compromise, goodbye to personal-anything; in fact, goodbye to a single thing other than “we have received your order”..they (Groundwork Coffee) have never recognised another thing other than receiving my money (twice now) (I thought perhaps there was an administrative error the first time)(Nope…this is just how it is now)……INDIFFERENCE IS WHAT I HAVE RECEIVED TWICE FROM GROUNDWORK….; David Kobos was the zenith…Groundwork absolutely fails as a living organism. If you want to feel that you don’t matter…nor does your order (for which you never even receive a shipping notice….it is merely millennial telepathy one must go by…one merely receives ONE order acknowledgement and then, that’s it)…then, I guess keep purchasing from Kobos…just know there is nothing Kobos about it (no virtue, no kindness, no mutuality…no thanks)…I’m moving my trade to Cartel and Stumptown. If you’re wanting a call-back from Groundworks Coffee, you won’t get one. If you’re wanting a reply to your email, you’ll not receive one.Goodbye Kobos….and incidentally…there is nothing “ESTATE” about this Guatemalan….it is the dregs. It’s cheap…and the old adage “you get what you pay for” holds true here…junky grocery outlet coffee…
